Lovable App to Production in India: What It Really Costs

Running a live Lovable app costs about $50 a month in tools, plus one-time work on data rules, login, payments and backups. Here's the full budget for India.

Lovable App to Production in India: What It Really Costs

Taking a Lovable app live in India costs two things. The first is a monthly tool bill of roughly $45–50 for hosting, a database with backups and a custom domain. The second is a one-time production fix-up: data access rules, login, payments and backups. That second part is where the real money goes, and it depends on how your app was built. You can price it before anyone writes code.

Why are founders asking this now?

On 2 November, Handelsblatt reported on a scan by the Hamburg security firm Crissy Field. It looked at 159,041 public Lovable projects. According to the report, 24,664 sites sent database records to any visitor without a login, and on 7,403 of those sites the records included email addresses. The researchers say that 30% figure is not a confirmed leak rate. Their advice is still blunt: have an expert check access permissions before real customer data goes in.

Then on 30 October, Supabase (the database behind most Lovable apps) changed how new tables work on existing projects. New tables are no longer exposed to the app automatically. Each one needs an explicit permission grant. If your app adds a table for a new feature and nobody adds the grant, that feature simply won't load.

Neither is a reason to panic. Both are reasons to treat "live" as an engineering step, not a Publish button.

What will you pay every month?

List prices from each provider's pricing page, checked today. Most bill in US dollars.

ItemWhat you getPrice
Lovable ProCustom domain on Lovable hosting, 100 credits$25/month
Supabase Pro8 GB database, daily backups kept 7 days$25/month
Vercel Pro (if you move hosting)Commercial use allowed, 1 TB transfer$20/month per seat
.in domainRenewal, varies by registrarAbout $6–13/year
RazorpayCards, UPI, netbanking2% per successful transaction + 18% GST on the fee

So staying on Lovable hosting runs about $50 a month plus the domain. Moving to Vercel runs about $45 a month, plus Lovable if you keep editing there. Payment fees scale with sales.

Two traps to avoid. Supabase's free plan has no automatic backups and pauses a project after a week of inactivity. That's fine for a demo but not for a business. And Vercel's free Hobby plan is for personal, non-commercial use only.

One open question: Lovable's docs priced its current chat offer only through 31 October 2026 and don't yet say what replaces it. If your team still edits the app in Lovable every day, keep some room in the budget for credits.

What one-time work does a live app need?

This is the checklist we run on an AI-built app before it takes real users:

  • Data rules. Every table has row-level security, and one customer can't read another customer's rows. This is the gap the Crissy Field scan found.
  • Secrets. No API keys in front-end code. Paid AI or email keys sit on the server.
  • Login. Password reset works, sessions expire, and admin pages check the role on the server rather than only hiding a button.
  • Payments. Razorpay or Stripe webhooks confirm the payment server-side, and failed payments are handled.
  • Backups. Paid database plan, a tested restore, and a written migration plan for schema changes.
  • Domain and email. Your domain, HTTPS, and transactional email that doesn't land in spam.
  • Ownership. Code in your GitHub, and hosting, domain and database accounts in your company's name.

Should you stay on Lovable or move out?

Stay on Lovable hosting if the app is simple, your team keeps building in Lovable, and you mostly need the data rules fixed. It's the cheaper path.

Move to your own hosting if you need background jobs, heavier integrations, or a developer working in the code every week. Lovable syncs to GitHub, so moving out doesn't mean a rewrite. We keep what works and replace only what won't hold up.

What pushes the one-time price up or down?

Four things matter most:

  1. How many user roles you have. Customer-only is simple. Customer, staff and admin means more rules to write and test.
  2. Whether money moves through the app. Payments add webhooks, receipts and refund handling.
  3. How messy the database is. Duplicate tables and missing relationships take time to untangle, especially once real data is in them.
  4. Integrations. Each CRM, WhatsApp or ERP connection is its own piece of work.

That's why we don't quote off a screenshot. Our AI app to production service starts with a review of your project or GitHub export. Then you get an itemised fixed price before work begins. The price changes only if the scope does. If you want the security side in more depth, read our pre-launch security checklist for Lovable apps.
